Effect of changes in user Demand for user comfort Housing in Czech Republic

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

After 1948, housing construction was socially-oriented. The main emphasis was placed on the quantity of flats built and improved technical level of housing. All efforts were aimed at construction restoration and the removal of war damage. New possibilities were sought with regard to the acceleration and economization of construction, frequently at the ex-pense of long-term quality and operational efficiency. Housing, however, must be provid-ed in a fully-fledged, completely operational condition; it must not be regarded as make-shift. The construction concept should always be a natural response to the user's needs, whose housing demands, however, have been changing over the course of time. This pa-per deals with the overall user comfort of residential houses, which is, among others, in-fluenced by the existence, spatial efficiency and usability of facilities in residential hous-es. This paper is focused on the very facilities of residential houses and their influence on overall user comfort, in as much as this issue has up to now primarily been solved in the terms of the dwelling area, while the other areas of residential houses have been neglected.
