Numerical approach to the assessment of excavation induced zones around the underground working
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article deals with the problem of determination of zones induced by excavation of underground work in solid granitoid rocks using numerical modelling under the assumption of Hoek-Brown's failure condition and Diederichs’s conceptual model of behaviour of the rock environment around the underground work. Three fundamental induced zones around the underground work are characterized - the High Damage Zone (HDZ), the Excavation Damage Zone (EDZ) and the Excavation Influence Zone (EIZ) and the possibilities of their indication based on Diederichs’s methodical approach - Damage Initiation and Spalling Limits (DISL). This approach, based on the peak and residual parameters of Hoek-Brown’s failure criteria for the characterization of the two basic limit boundary failure curves (the curve corresponding to the initiation of the cracks and the curve corresponding to the spalling type), will allow determination of the ranges of the individual zones on the basis of the evaluation of the principal stresses, shear strains and plastic indicators around the work. The methodology was applied to the evaluation of induced zones near the charging corridor of the reference project of a deep nuclear waste repository.
