The digital twin on a residential housing in the Czech Republic on the BIM platform and its importance for the circular economy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The construction sector is one of the industries that produces up to around 39 % of all global carbon emissions. The society and the European Community are seeking to change this adverse situation in line with the principles of the circular economy and in line with the spirit of the "Fit for 55" programme document. The aim of this paper is to show through a case study of an apartment building constructed in the 1970s, how the innovative BIM platform can contribute to the reduction of pollutants and emissions, reinforce the principles of circularity and sustainable construction, in a residential building constructed in the last century, a building that currently has no digital passporting based on a building information modelling. Using BIM, a digital model of the selected housing building will be created containing information about the individual materials used in the construction at that time. The digital materials inventory developed will provide an overview of the available sources of building materials, making it easier to identify and manage them. At the same time, a discourse for a shared platform will be promoted to exchange information on the available materials, their quality status and the possibilities of their reuse in construction. The BIM platform will thus become an integral part of the circular economy of the existing buildings and will contribute to a better codification in the environment of digitalisation in the construction industry, at the same time, it will use the remaining life of structural elements to the maximum extent.
