The Bloomsbury Global Encyclopedia of Women in Architecture 1960-2020 fills a void in architectural history, giving students, scholars and professional architects an authoritative reference to women architects and their work, and to key terms for gender and women’s rights in architecture.The text is an biographical entry about important Czech woman architect Emanuela Kittrichová as a part of the content of global encyklopedia in the part of the Czech Republic.Emanuela Kittrichová, an architect and designer, spent much of her professional life andcareer at the Institute of Housing and Clothing Culture (ÚBOK) since its founding from1959 until 1972. She had been working on the optimization of apartmentkitchens based on anthropometry and methods of food preparation. This research gaverise to modular kitchen systems, which were produced in series and made their way intomost Czech households in the 1970s, especially in prefabricated panel buildings of masshousing construction.
