The Bloomsbury Global Encyclopedia of Women in Architecture 1960-2020 fills a void in architectural history, giving students, scholars and professional architects an authoritative reference to women architects and their work, and to key terms for gender and women’s rights in architecture.Eva Jiřičná’s notable career spans collaborative practices as well as running her owndesign studio that is known for its interior design. She became known especially for her commercial, restaurant, and office interiors. A notable part of her work is design elements constructed of glass and steel, especially staircases. Jiřičná is aprofessor at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She has received anumber of architectural awards for her lifelong work worldwide, including the Commanderof the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for Services to Interior Design (1994) and theMinistry of Culture of the Czech Republic Award for Contribution to Architecture (2009).
