Risk of Destruction of High - Pressure Cylinders Exposed to Fire.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The behaviour of cylinders with liquefied, dissolved and compressed gases when exposed to fire was investigated. High-pressure cylinders can be exposed to flames during fire emergencies. These emergencies can occur during the usual use, transportation or storage of the cylinders. High-pressure cylinders were exposed to fire in the experiment, and selected parameters were simultaneously monitored up to moment of their destruction. Interesting information about the behaviour of high-pressure cylinders exposed to fire can be obtained from the surface temperature values of the cylinder's shell, the change in internal pressure and other properties. During an emergency, necessary precautions must be taken to avoid overheating high-pressure cylinders. Depending on the real conditions of the emergency, depressurizing cylinders by piercing their shell with a bullet appears to be an effective means of preventing explosion. Different types of ammunition were used in the experiments, and the distance of the shooter and angles of incidence of penetration of the bullet into the shell, among other things, were tested.
