Czech annual output of underground mined coal after significant rediction during the last five years dropped up to 11mil. tons. Closing uneffective mines has led to the concentration of faces in active mines. The length of faces has increased up to 250 m, the thickness up to 6 m. The one slice extraction of such thicknesses has introduced a problem of suitable mechanization.
