One pair of gears is placed in the test device in a similar way as in a real gearbox. One of the wheels is mounted on needle bearings and torque is transmitted from the shaft via a synchronizing clutch. The three displacement sensors monitor the axial movement of the gear in three places and evaluate its axial spatial movement. The result of this measurement is the detection of wheel vibrations during rotation and their effect on noise emission.
