Characterization of organic binders for pelletization
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
An organic binder is a material that is used to hold particles together to form a solid shape or structure. The characterization of an organic binder depends on the specific application and intended use. Nanoparticles can increase the barrier properties of organic binders, such as their resistance to moisture, oxygen, and other environmental factors. The rheological properties of the organic binder, such as its shear behavior, can affect its flow properties and ability to coat or penetrate particles. Techniques such as powder rheometry was used to determine these properties. And the nanoparticles have been determined. Selected organic binders used to produce pellets were characterized in detail. These were lignosulfonate, flour and starch. From the rheological properties were measured the angle of internal friction, compressibility and angle of repose. The effect of the nanoparticles content in the binder on their further processing was studied. The first results showed that some of the physical-mechanical properties improved after the addition of binders. This research can provide interesting information about the advantages/disadvantages of using organic binders in pellet production.
