Investigation of dynamic response of a single-axle trailer when driving through an individual road obstacle
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Trailers for passenger cars are currently often used for the transportation of 13 goods, and they are intended to be towed by them. There are various designs of trailers. 14 The most of trailers are equipped by axles, which includes swinging arms and suspended 15 by rubber segments. Observations revealed, that empty trailers have unfavorable driving 16 properties when driving on road unevenness. This means the wheel jumping off the road. 17 Such a situation is dangerous, because it is not possible to transmit any contact forces, i.e. 18 longitudinal, lateral, vertical between the wheel and the road. The goal of the presented 19 research is to measure acceleration generated in the single-axle trailer when driving over 20 an individual road obstacle. Measurements were carried out in a non-public area to avoid 21 the risk of accidents. Accelerations were recorded by two accelerometers placed on the 22 single-axle trailer frame and located above the wheels’ axle of rotation. Tests were per-23 formed by a vehicle-trailer combination at the chosen driving speeds and the results for 24 the driving speeds of 20 km/h and 30 km/h are presented. A wood plate with a height of 25 25 mm and 50 mm was chosen as an artificial road obstacle. The single-axle trailer was 26 loaded by gravel backs 0 kg to 300 kg. The measurement revealed, that higher load of 27 trailer and lower driving speed is safer for operation of the trailer. Further, the measure-28 ments helped also to prove that jumping off the wheel is significant at the 0 kg load and 29 low driving speed.
