AC adjustable speed drives belong among the devices which have negative influences on the quality of electrical energy at the point of their connection to the network. The paper deals with an examination of the influence of drives with standard 6-pulse input rectifier in comparison with the same drive fitted with additional devices for harmonics reduction such as an input AC reactor and a broad-band harmonic filter, and finally with an active front end rectifier used instead of the standard 6-pulse. Thelevels of supply voltage and drawn current distortions are presented for all tested drives.
