Mitigation of interferences between electric regulated drainage and track circuits
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Electric drainage is a device used to protect metal objects buried underground (usually pipelines or water supply) from electrochemical corrosion caused by DC stray currents. DC stray currents come from DC electric traction, such as electric railway or tramway. Electric drainage is a conductive connection between the rails and underground device, so current does not flow from the device into the ground (causing corrosion), but it flows through this connection instead. The most advanced type of electric drainage is regulated electric drainage, which usually uses pulse width modulation (PWM). This modulation creates current harmonic components with different frequencies. In railway tracks there are often track circuits, which use a certain frequency. For secure operation, it is necessary to make sure that frequencies generated by the drainage do not interfere with track circuits. This paper deals with the mitigation of interferences between regulated electric drainage and track circuits. It contains simulation results and also some measurement results acquired on a prototype installed on a tram track.
