The paper presents the results of a study dealing with the evaluation of implementation of two selected geobarriers of floodlands and radon into the land-use plan, namely related to the current and planned built-up areas and engineering-geological zonessuch as the representatives of the geological environment in which constructions are founded. The case study was carried out in a selected locality affected mining activities in the surroundings of the town of Orlová (map sheet 15-44-02), which is located in the Karviná section of the Ostrava-Karviná District. It was discovered that these marginal conditions have not been sufficiently considered by existing the land-use plan.
