Energy by-products result from coal-burning in thermal power stations and desulphurization of combustion products. After appropriate certification, most of the m is used as recyclable materials. Unused energy by-products are deposited on dumpsites. Construction, running and consquent recultivation of the sludgelagoons require geodetic surveys and outputs. Their implementation can be carried out as an external delivery of service or geodetic survey within the company, which requires investment to purchase surveying instruments. Within the cooperation of the university and power company, the team of authors was tasked with creating a methodology for geodetic survey related to sludge lagoons. Part of this project consists of evaluation of the best optionof commisioning geodetic surveys and economic investment efficiency.
