In the 90th of the last century there was a decline in all types of coal mining, but now this energy source again attracts our attention. Substances that are released into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels bring numerous environmental, technical, and economic problems. Set of technologies that deals with this problem is called "Clean Coal Technology". The question is how to solve these problems. One option is the most advanced processing of mined coal and maximum use of flammable components. This trend poses new tasks in Mineral Processing: process and comprehensive use of coal finest fraction, which arise in the processes of coal treatment. This article deals with the influence of microorganisms Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans on the flotation of the sample of black coal. Bio - flotation is a method, which can be classified as one of the technologies, which are called "Clean Coal Technologies". The aim of the experiments evaluates which effect have bacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans on the ash and sulfur content in coal samples after different exposure time in the flotation pulp (15 minutes - 7 days). As the flotation reagent is used Montanol 551.
