Digital terrain model and landforms classification
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Landforms classification is one of the applications based on digital terrain model (DTM). There were evaluated several classification methods like Hammond's (1964), Dikau's (1991), Pike's (2006), etc. These methods were automated and they are innovating and testing for different types of terrain nowadays. Innovations lie mainly in a processing of more precise data and an adjusting the methods to get more precise and valuable result. The paper deals with a comparison testing of methods for landforms classification over study DEMs. The area of Moravian part of Beskydy Mountains was selected as a study area. There was tested witch classification system and its setting are suitable for the study area. Hammond's classification with Dikau landform code (1991) and with MORAP landform code and Wood classification (1996) were used. There are several input options for these classifications. Settings according Barka et al. [10] and Morgan and Lesh [9] were compared. Testing was provided by script in GRASS GIS software.
