The effects of varying CaO content and rehydration treatment on the composition, yield, and evolution of gaseous products from the pyrolysis of sewage sludge
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Sewage sludge samples with CaO content of 0%, 5%, and 10%, as well as rehydrated (50 wt.% moisture) versions of these three samples were examined in this research. The chemical analyses of dry sewage sludge samples revealed fatty acids inhibition on theformation of calcite (CaCO3) as a result of calcium carboxylate salts generation. Pyrolysis experiments on dry and rehydrated samples were conducted in a fixed bed reactor under nitrogen atmosphere and heating rate of 5 °C/min to the final temperature of750 °C. The effects of varying CaO content and rehydration treatment on the composition, yield, and evolution profiles of the gaseous products released during pyrolysis were evaluated. The pyrolysis gaseous products consisted primarily of CH4, H2, CO2,CO, C2H6, and C3H8. The excess of CaO favored reverse water-gas shift (WGS) reaction and therefore increased CO formation. Whereas rehydration treatment weakened the effect of CaO on the evolution of gaseous products. The combination of b
