Determining the actual accuracy of distances measured by electro-optical distance meters is a problem that has been addressed since the first devices emerged. Although various detailed error analyses of statistical material were processed, it is difficult to determine total median errors in the distances measured by electro-optical distance metres under specific conditions. The main reason can be seen in low awareness of the presence of various systematic errors in the measurement results. One importantimpact on the accuracy of distances determined in this way is caused by errors in determining the temperature and pressure of the environment in which the distance meter signal moves. The problem of the influence of atmospheric conditions using the electro-optical distance meter may also occur in the depth measurement method, which is used for vertical connection of underground points.
