Mine water treatment by selected remediation techniques
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study was focused on the experimental testing of selected remediation techniques in the process of treatment of different mine water samples. Tested mine waters were collected at selected active brown coal deposits in Czech Republic and at one abandoned Sb ore deposit in Slovakia. The water samples from brown coal deposits has acidic (pH 2.7) to circumneutral (pH 7.7) character with increased concentration of SO42- (1580 mg.l-1), Fe (20 mg.l-1), Mn (5 mg.l-1), Al (15 mg.l-1) and K (10 mg.l-1). For mine waters from antimony ore deposit the circumneutral pH value (7.2) and high concentration of Sb (240 ?g.l-1), As (440 ?g.l-1) and Mn (140 ?g.l-1) were typical. During the experiments the ion exchange membrane technique, sedimentation, adsorption on biomass ash, adsorption on activated carbon and adsorption on Fe sorbent GEH(R) were tested. In some cases, after adequate treatment/cleaning, mine water can be used as a source of potable water. Therefore, the aim of the study was to confi
