Practical Experience Using Cement Mixture during the Excavation of the Mine Workings no. 5053 on the Mining Plant 1 within the OKR (Ostrava-Karviná Coal District) Conditions

Ensuring the contact of the arch excavation support with rock mass is a very important element in the excavation of mine workings. When implementing mine opening in order to disclose Ostrava seams at the Mining Plant 1, volumetric bags filled with quick-setting mixture were used to fill empty spaces behind the TH (Thusaint and Heitzmann) excavation support in the area of upper arches. This solution helps to achieve uniform load distribution of the massif on the flexible steel excavation support in the vertical direction. The technology was chosen with respect to the increased demands on the life of the mine. The first part of the paper describes the technology of excavation at the mine workings no. 5053, the second part focuses attention on practical experience using quick-setting concrete mixture. At present, when high demands are put on the economy of ecavation of workings itself, it is important to combine the technology of excavation to achieve the highest possible efficiency.
