The article is dealt with the assessment of water and sediment chemistry in a parallel channel the River Odra on the area CHKO Poodří, specifically the section with title Sláňské lake. This section of parallel channel has character of both standing waterand flowing water. There was no a research in this area before that would did the chemical parameters and overall quality of surface water. The aim of the measurement was to determine the concentration of selected indicators in surface water (water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, suspended solids, total phosphorus, ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen) and to evaluate them in terms of available legislation. Into an assessment of chemistry was included also affected in terms of natural processes occurring in the aquatic ecosystem. Monitoring took place in period from July 2013 to April 2014.
