Fertilizing substrates based on a digestate from biogas plant.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The application of digestate as a fertilizer is still controversial topic of discussion. The digestate contains significant concentration of ammonium nitrogen and pH over 8. The ammonium nitrogen is instable because of the pH and changes into ammonia. Ammonia gas causes loss of nutrients and toxic effect on soil edaphon. Consequently, it is very convenient to modify the digestate by other materials, especially by an organic waste. The result of this research is a new type of fertilizing substrate which improves properties of the digestate. During the research, there were created 50 different combinations of digestate with other materials. The comparison method was based on European standard EN 16086 - 2. The reference sample for this test was a soil. Positive sample of substrates have improved nitrogen balance. If we use the mixture of digestate and soil only, the tests show as an inhibition of watercress root growth. On the other hand, if we improve the nitrogen balance, tests show us stimulation of watercress root growth.
