THE STUDY OF OCCURRENCES OF SELECTED PAHS ADSORBED ON PM10 PARTICLES IN COAL MINE WASTE DUMPS HEŘMANICE AND HRABŮVKA (CZECH REPUBLIC)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The mining activities in the city of Ostrava have led to the formation of at least six coal waste dumps of loose material arising as wastes from mining and quarrying. In the past, it was not possible to sort the tailings perfectly, which means that large amounts of unutilised coal substance susceptible to spontaneous combustion remained in the tailings. The thermal activity in the dumps is responsible for pollutants that contribute to air pollution and damage on human health in the surroundings. It is therefore very important that these pollutants are detected timely. During the analyses, the pollutants occurring on the Ema Dump were determined by GC chromatography concentrations of the sixteen PAHs to PM10, in Heřmanice and Hrabuvka they were determined by GC/MS chromatography when sampling PM10. Twenty-nine sampling points that showed different results were studied in Heřmanice. The average concentration of PAHs was Σ16 in Heřmanice 56.06 mg kg-1. In the Hrabůvka Heap, the average concentration of PAHs Σ16 = 48.40 mg kg-1.
