Investigation of fiber cement-based materials and evaluation their physical and mechanical properties
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Currently, the development of commercially viable environmentally friendly and healthy materials is based on natural biomass resources utilization. Cellulose fibers obtained from wood, annual plants and/or paper waste are widely available in most countries around the world. Their advantageous properties make them suitable materials for matrix reinforcement of fiber–cement applications. This study assesses the influence of mixture design via a variation of the amount of cellulosic fibers (0.2, 0.3 and 0.5 wt. %) of filler and binder weight on the density and strength properties of cement based composites after 7 and 28 days of hardening. Two different types of cellulosic fibers coming from recycled waste paper and wood pulp were used. Reference cement composite sample without fibers was manufactured in order to compare the physico-mechanical properties of hardened fiber cement- based composites. Density and strength parameters of 7 and 28 days hardened fiber cement-based composites are influenced by the structural and physical characteristics and amount of used cellulosic fibers.
