A methodology used to determine the technological hot formability of steel has been developed using a wedge rolling test. Series of wedge-shaped rolling tests were realized by different temperatures at rolling mill K350. The experiment was carried out onthe tool steel 19 436. The results of the test are computer processed on the basis of computer image recognition - scanned contour of the resultant rolled stock. The results were confronted with those of a hot torsion test.
