Fluorescence study of reduced charge montmorillonite complexes with cationic dyes.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Series of montmorillonites (M) with reduced charge (RCM) were prepared by Li+ saturation of montmorillonite and subsequently by heating at temperatures 40, 130 and 210oC. The cation exchange capacity (CEC) and X-ray diffraction pattern (d001) of RCMs were measured. The decrease of CEC and d001 was found out with decreasing charge of RCM, i.e. increasing temperature of RCM preparation. The RCM samples were intercalated by cationic dyes, especially methylene blue (MB). The fluorescence spectra of these complexes (dye/RCM) were studied. In the fluorescence spectra the significant increase of intensity was observed with decreasing of RCM charge, dye loading and with decrease of methylene blue concentration in equilibrium aqueous solution. The fully intercalated MB/RCM complexes have the fluorescence intensity very poor whereas the MB/RCM complexes with low dye loading (about 10 %) indicate much higher intensity. That was proved for next two non laser cationic dyes (Crystal violet and Nile
