Effect of Die Geometry on Strain Uniformity and Drawing Force in Wire Drawing
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The purpose of this study was to explore the drawing process with regard to the drawing die geometry by means of finite element method. We develop our previous computation experiments which focused on the effects of one-pass reduction and the reduction zone angle. For this analysis, three types of drawing dies were selected (conical, radial, sigmoidal) with various reduction zone angles from 2? = 4 to 2? = 26°. The simulations were carried out for limit friction values (m = 0.02 and 0.1). FormFEM 1.6 software was used for the calculations. The total of 44 variants of cold drawing of wire from the initial diameter d0 = 5.5 mm to d1 = 5.083 mm was explored by mathematical analysis. We have assessed the total drawing force Fc (the study presents a comparison of Fc values calculated using FormFEM and those obtained from the most widely used formulas: Pomp-Siebel-Houdremont, Körber-Eichinger and Geleji) and the strain non-uniformity expressed as the difference between the maximum and minimu
