The paper presents the main objectives of the laboratory and summarizes existing results obtained from the beginning up to the present. Its activity is devoted to the study of processes mainly related to the refining, casting and solidification of steeland increasing of cooperation with metallurgical companies. The high-quality and unique equipment (high-temperature devices for thermal analysis and a viscometer, and software ProCAST) acquired during the solving of the project RMSTC are used.
