The paper deals with the study of liquidus and solidus temperatures and latent heats of melting of real steel grades. Three real steel grades were investigated; liquidus and solidus temperatures and values of latent heats of melting were obtained. Liquidus and solidus temperatures and latent heats of melting were obtained using DSC method (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). Setaram MHTC (Multi High Temperature Calorimeter) Line 96 was used for all measurements. Temperatures of solidus and liquidus andlatent heats were also computed using Thermo-Calc with TCFE7 database. Comparison and discussion of experimental and computed data was performed. All investigated quantities are very important for thermodynamic and kinetic modelling. These data are alsovaluable for many SWs used for technological processes modelling. The obtained data can serve for the addition and enhancement of many thermodynamic databases.
