Sustainable development goals (SDGs) adopted by all United Na- tions Member States in 2015 provide an opportunity for the automotive indus- try to create value for both shareholders and all other stakeholders. The aim of the paper is to research the SDGs preferences in the worldwide automotive industry from the point of view of the economic country conditions in which the individual automotive companies operate. The comparison of preferences was carried out for three broad economic condition categories - G7, developed economies, and developing economies. The PROMETHEE ranking method and its GAIA tool were used as the main research methodology. The obtained results show that the SDGs preferences of automotive companies significantly depend on the country economic conditions in which they operate.
