The strategic management of public and non-profit organisations gains still great importance in the contemporary turbulent conditions. The management of those organizations, the Czech universities too, should be capable to react appropriately under pressure of changes in political, legal, economic and demographic context. The complex analysis of the problem would need much more space and work; demonstrating concrete strategic management case of one faculty of the public university on the basis of the theory of three strategic dimensions the author points out some systemic aspects that can influence the strategic success of the faculty.
