Experts and expertise are essential in all types of proceedings. The reason is not only the growing complexity of the subject-matter of these proceedings, but national and intersectoral coherence and many international influences. This is reflected in the proceedings, which may not always have an international element. Standards for the assessment of what is the subject of the experts examination, they are much less tied to the national environment as opposed to assessment questions exclusively to the legislation. The publication discusses the status and activity of experts at the national level as well as in proceedings before international forums, from the European courts (in particular, the ECJ and the Tribunal), via the ECTHR, the international criminal courts, the International Court of Justice, but also ad hoc courts, etc.
