This paper concentrates upon the development of spatial structure of Czech banking sector from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. It is shown that regional distribution of banking headquarters in the Czech Republic is not in consonance withcountry?s settlement structure. The objective of the article is to analyse and interpret the spatial structure of banking headquarters in the Czech Republic after 1992, i.e. in transition and post-transition periods. The location of banking headquartersin the Czech Republic and its implications for regionally strongly differentiated economic power will be discussed too. Simultaneously, fundamental factors determining the location of banking headquarters in the country will be evaluated from qualitativeperspective. Thus, the hierarchy of urban banking centres in the Czech Republic can be constructed.
