Media and regions traditionally represented two entities existing alongside. Nonetheless, recent years witnessed growing interconnectedness of these two categories. As it is shown on the case of the Czech Republic, themes that appear in media, co-determine the formation of mental maps and subsequently also socioeconomic developments in country?s regions. Moreover, media coverage can be spatially strongly differentiated even in small or medium-sized countries. Influence of media on regions constitutes truly topical issue as an amazingly small amount research was devoted to this realm so far.
