The impact of recent financial crisis on Visegrad countries in credit (and deposit) area was not damaging and an immediate restructuring of loans of monetary financial institutions was one of typical and important features of their behavior. The responseof commercial banks? management was quite flexible in the region. The space given quite low level of household indebtedness allowed banks to use growing amount of deposits as credits to households instead of credits to firms. This way a negative impactof decreasing demand was reduced. In the paper the restructuring of bank loans during the economic (financial) crisis has been explored.
