In a knowledge-driven economy, an attention has been strongly focused on the innovation as a key factor of states? performance and competitiveness. In spite of globalization, regions are becoming important engines of economic development and the role ofregions as the critical nexus for innovation-based economic growth has increased. Although, national and state policies create a platform for innovation, innovation activities are increasingly supported at regional level where workers, companies, universities, and government interface most directly. Fostering creativity and innovation of entrepreneurs is the principal challenge of regions to boost their productivity and therefore strengthen the region?s and country?s competitiveness. Regional innovationactivities should create the conditions under which enterprises can stimulate and enable their innovative performance.
