This article is dealing with the spatial differences of the European population ageing. The research is focused on spatial differences of ageing process between 28 European Union countries. The analyses on this spatial level are working with the creation of cartogram method for processing of the demographical data. Our principal main is to group the all 28 EU members on the basis children and elderly substitution in population and evaluation of the ageing process. Therefore, we are using the basic measurement methods for examination of the age structure. The spatial typology is carried out on the basis of time series analysis for the last 25 years of the following four demographical indicators: the children ratio, the elderly ratio, the ageing index (AI) and the dynamic ageing index (DAI). The world's current ageing index is about 30 (stationary population pyramid). Only in Europe is more than 100 and in the European Union actually around 121 (constrictive population pyramid). This mean, that in Europe we have more elderly people than children. We will try to explain the consequence and requirement of social policy because of rapidly population ageing.
