Cultural Education and Cultural Exchange in the European Union Member States

The European Union promotes in long term the cultural cooperation and cultural exchange between the Member States and international organizations and countries outside the European Union. It is also contributing to the development of quality of education and training by promoting cooperation between Member States. Improving the teaching and learning of foreign languages and promoting external mobility are among the European Union&apos;s main priorities in education. The presented paper is aimed on the relation between culture and education. This relation is considered as significant, because culture has a great impact on education as well as education plays a major role in transmission of culture. The research focuses on evaluation of two areas that link education with culture. On one hand, tertiary students who are studying culture-related fields of education and on the other hand, the role played by education in facilitating cultural exchange, for example, by learning foreign languages or by promoting the mobility of tertiary education students between Member States of European Union. The evaluation is based on application of multicriteria decision-making methods and is involving all European Union Member States.
