Information Support for Brownfield Revitalisation Projects and other Tasks in Enviromental Areas
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper presents results achieved in the field of information support using information technology to solve projects on brownfield revitalisation, and modelling and visualisation of the landscape. The initial task was to analyse and design a database of brownfields with relevant information for project managers. This was solved as a partial task within the international project COBRAMAN. The described solution was then combined with the method of landscape modelling and visualisation, using information technology designed by Associate Professor Zdeněk Neustupa - a combination of Computer-aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) tools with virtual reality capability. The result of many years of research is an original procedure for processing environmental data with the resultant output available for professionals in the field, who may not have knowledge of information and communication technology (IT/ICT) but require information support in their work. An example of the implementation of this procedure is the Czech-Polish project INVARO dealing with mapping the spread of invasive plants.
