The Shape of EU: Political Regionalisation of Visegrad Countries inside EU
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Current role EU in international relations is changing: mainly because of evolving system of international relations as well as due to imbalance between economic and political developments inside EU. In this unstable entropic system of international relations, which permanently creates new structures and links between its elements is increasingly important interconnection between states such as regional integration. Not only the superpowers and powers and not only transnational corporations, but also regional groupings could have wider radius of action. This tendency is concerned with the theory multipolar integrative regionalism. Globalized economy can be therefore in the future balanced more by regionalized politics. The source of the functionality of regional groupings both internally and externally is the extent of their internal ability to act. The principal systemic conflict within the EU is imbalance between the level of economic integration and political integration. This imbalance is reflected in the EU's foreign policy unsure position in the situation, when Europe's borders touching armed conflicts and hybrid war. Regionalization is one of the effective tools to empower individual states in foreign relations: paradoxically partial loss of national sovereignty in favor of integration can strengthen the state abroad, thanks to the power of integration grouping. This can be an advantage especially for small and medium-sized states. Nevertheless, not only small and medium states often form joint short-term or long-term platforms within the EU, such as the Scandinavian or Mediterranean platform. An example of a regional platform within the EU is Visegrad Group (V4). V4 primarily does not seek for economic integration, which is solved within the EU. Member states, however, wishing to consolidate their position inside and outside the EU.
