Studies of Strontium Ions Sorption from Aqueous Solution
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The present study describes the effect of initial Sr2+ ions concentration in solution on sorption kinetics using the montmorillonite as sorbent. The model solution of Sr2+ ions was prepared from Sr(NO3)(2). Experiments were carried out with various initial concentrations of Sr2+ ions at laboratory temperature. Concentrations of Sr2+ and other dissolved ions in filtrate were determined using atomic emission spectroscopy with inductively coupled plasma. The kinetic data were fitted using the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models. The coefficient of determination was used to describe the best corresponding model. The kinetic studies showed that the sorption process was quite rapid; experimental kinetic data were found to be well fitted with pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used for analyzing the experimental data. Obtained data were fitted by the Freundlich model better than the Langmuir isotherm.
