Waste incineration products stabilizing with regard to legislative requirements
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The current environment is significantly affected by the emergence of a number of wastes with hazardous properties that may be harmful especially to biotic components of ecosystems. Available types of hydraulic binders for the stabilization of hazardous waste as a product of the municipal waste incineration process were selected and evaluated. The method is based on end-product solidification using cement matrices. Mixing the end product, cement and water resulted in a mixture that was exposed to a solidification process. The aqueous leachates from prepared matrices were subsequently analysed for selected toxic elements. According to the results of the analysis, the most suitable alkaline binder was evaluated based on the level of fixation of the toxic elements. The result is that cement is a suitable binder for the stabilization of toxic elements, especially for two reasons, the economic aspect and easy accessibility. On the basis of these aspects, cementation is anticipated in the future.
