DRY ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF BIOWASTE FROM MAINTENANCE OF URBAN GREENERY IN NOVEL ROTARY BIOREACTOR
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Biowaste from the maintenance of urban greenery from Havířov and Karviná cities in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic was anaerobically stabilized by a high-solids process in a rotating bioreactor of innovative construction without leachate recirculation. An innovative lab-scale reactor had a square cross-section reaction chamber for easy filling. The total reactor volume was 0.14 m3. The initial inoculation was carried out by adding 40% digestate from an operational high-solids biogas plant processing exclusively the type of urban greenery waste. Four cycles of the batch experiment with a step-up temperature and a shortened residence time were performed. At an average initial batch total solids content of 36.52% the biogas production intensity calculated based on the total reactor volume averaged on 0.732 mN3 m-3 d-1. The average specific production of biogas and methane from the batch, batch solids and batch volatile solids was 0.039 mN3 kg-1, 0.106 mN3 kgTS-1 and 0.161 mN3 kgVS-1 respectively. The biowaste solids itself produced 0.099-0.206 mN3 kgTS-1 of biogas and 0.052-0.118 mN3 kgTS-1 of methane.
