The application of the principles of circular economics in the management of single-type biodegradable waste from direct production (food production, wood waste) can bring economic and environmental benefits by ensuring the production of products with a higher added value and by saving primary resources. Biodegradable Municipal Waste (BMW), as part of municipal solid waste (MSW), remains a problem. The information on the quality of &quot;clean kitchen waste collected separately&quot; will be available only after the introduction of separate collections after 2025. In terms of valorization of such waste, a limiting factor for its further use may be newly monitored pollutants (e.g., microplastics).
