The monograph introduces both the professional community and general public to the ethical and legal issues related to assisted reproduction. The special part provides a comprehensive overview of the situation in the ten countries which joined the European Union in 2004. Based on the information obtained, the legal regulations and practical approaches to assisted reproduction in the new member states are discussed within the context of the enlarged European Union, Continental Europe and the world.
