Some of the civilisation diseases, including the metabolic syndrome, arise due to infringement of rules for psychic hygiene and wrong eating habits. Mood disturbances and depression are concurrent with the metabolic syndrome as well. The aim of the research was to find out the rate of depression and anxiety in people with metabolic syndrome, their quality of life and the effect of anxiety and depression on quality of life.
