El trabajo se propone examinar uno de los patrones que emplea un sector de la prensa colombiana, El Meridiano de Córdoba, a la hora de representar las desmovilizaciones de las AUC. Recurriendo al análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo, se insiste en que laprensa estableció un patrón informativo que prefiere la voz paramilitar frente a la de la ciudadanía y la sociedad civil; su agenda temática se construye desde el polo del poder tanto paramilitar como institucional excluyendo del debate público a ampliostemas como derechos humanos, verificación de la desmovilización, historia del conflicto, etc. Además, se da amplio espacio al paramilitarismo y a las élites regionales para que intervengan en la prensa en favor de un marco jurídico favorable para las autodefensas, y para que legitimen la paz frente a los críticos.

This paper is aims to examine one of the modes of representation of the demobilization of the AUC, used by a sector of the Colombian press, El Meridiano de Córdoba. Using quantitative and qualitative approaches, we would like to stress that in the analysed case, large social sectors, such as civil society and citizens, have been excluded from public debate. Thematically, the news reflect an institutional and paramilitary group's point of view that excludes thems such as human rights, verification of thedemobilization, and the history of the Colombian civil war. The press also gives privileged access to the media to paramilitary groups and a regional elite, contributing in this manner to legitimating the peace process and creating favorable legal conditions for the AUC in terms of impunity and other benefits
