The studiy analyzes the relationship between the state and the churches in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938. The focus lies on the relationship between the state and the Roman Catholic Church. It desribes the peripetia in the mutual relations from the split between them up to the modus vivendi. The author pays attention also to the bibliography concerning this topic.
