The Department of Political Science and European Studies (KPES FF UP) organized the First Central European Conference of Doctoral Students of Politics, European Studies and International Relations in April 28 and 29, 2009. Altogether 41 active participants from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic presented their research. The conference was unique because similar political science platform had lacked both in the Czech and Central European context. It was a unique opportunity to confront anddiscuss important research problems across the field and establishing new institutional and research networks. The conference was divided into three thematic panels: comparative politics, international relations and European integration.
