Il voce si concentra sulla forma architettonica di Island Cabin & Studio, l'opera degli architetti americani di The Miller Hull Partnership. Costruito a Decatur Island, l'isola nella costa nord-ovest degli Stati Uniti nel 1994, l'edificio sviluppa la ricerca per un alloggio semplice ed economico, perfettamente in sintonia con l'ambiente circostante e con la tradizione architettonica locale. Facendo riferimento alle tipologie edilizie di questa zona, come i mullini di legno e le rimesse dei pescatori perasciugare le reti, gli architetti hanno concepito Island Cabin come due edifici dal volume austero con tetto a falda spiovente. Gli edifici indipendenti, non allianeati fra loro, sono destinati ognuno a una funzione diversa; il primo come alloggio principale, mentre il secondo serve come studio e spazio per gli ospiti.

The entry is concentrated on the architectural form of Island Cabin and Studio, the piece of work by american architects from The Miller Hull Partnership. Built in Decatur Island, an island off the north-west coast of the United States in 1994, the building develops research into a simple and economic dwelling, in perfect harmony with the surrounding enviroment and local architectural traditions. By referring to typological constructions from this area, such as wooden windmills and fishermen's sheds used to dry nets, the architects designed the Island Cabin as two austere volumes with a sloped roof. The independent and non-aligned buildings are each used for different function: the first as the main house, and the second as a studio and guest house.
